Interlaken

Located in Bernese Oberland, at 570 m (1,870 ft) above sea level, is a municipality named Interlaken, a top tourist destination on switzerland tours package. The town gets its name from the fact that it is surrounded by two lakes, namely; Lake Brienz to the east and Lake Thun to the west. The river Aare flows through the town and connects both these lakes. Interlaken is overlooked by three mighty mountains Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau; each a worthy sight of Swiss Alps which is sought by mountain climbers, hikers, bikers, sky divers and adventure seekers during summers. But the best time to be in Interlaken is during the winters. It’s the time when the town is bustling with tourists ready to bask in the white winter wonderland with activities ranging from skiing, snowboarding, sledging, ice skating etc.  Interlaken is also famous for events like mountain marathons at Jungfrau, Unspunnenfest at Interlaken which takes place once every ten years, Greenfield Music Festival and Red Bull Air Race World Series.
